In just 60 days, you can have an amazing indoor garden. If you’re new to indoor gardening, don’t be intimidated! I promise you, not only is it more than possible for you to grow – it’s easy! This is why we started Garden Labs – a simple online store and YouTube channel dedicated to spreading the long-collected knowledge we have acquired, while providing only products that are tested and used by us. Join us! It’s fun and healthy, and we’re here for you every step of the way.
In this article, we’re going to depart a bit from our normal content. Typically, we focus on How To’s, but today, we’re going to do a quick update so you can see the results yourself. I hope this encourages you to start your own indoor garden, if you have not started already.
This garden is exactly two months old. As you can see, just two months of growth has gotten us this! And, it was pretty freaking crazy.
Let’s do a quick walk through of each of the plants, and talk about our plans for them and the future of this garden.
Basil:
Here we have basil, and it’s doing very well. It smells very good, very happy. The pots that we put in here are the perfect size, about one gallon. For any of these kinds of herbs, it’s perfect.
Lemon Basil:
We have lemon basil here, which smells just like lemon heads. Absolutely ridiculous.
Cilantro:
Cilantro’s going nuts. Just crazy.
Peppers:
We have some flowers there on the pepper plants. These are jalapeno peppers. As you can tell, between the three different seeds that came from this variety, one grew a lot quicker than the other two. They’re just kind of chilling in the back there, but they’re very happy.
Kale:
Just look at the size of some of the leaves on this freaking kale! Nuts. We’ve been taking what we can, but there’s a lot here. I just gave a whole bag to some neighbors. Filled it up, too!
Tomato:
Check out the tomato plants, which have gotten out of control. Just taking over the tent! By the way, if you are looking for a good grow tent, check out these options.
You can see there are a lot of flowers on this tomato plant, and there are some little tomatoes hiding in there. However, this is way too thick right now. Not a lot of airflow is getting through there. I’ll be trimming this up so it’s not reaching over to the other side, which we really don’t want. If you need trimmers, you can find some here.
Dripper System: To Have An Epic Indoor Garden
We do have a dripper system in here right now.
It comes from the outside of the tent, where there is a reservoir, and it snakes through.
Some of the larger plants have four drippers sets in them, like the tomato plants, as they are using a lot of water.
Other plants like the kale plants, just have one, and they’re doing just fine.
As it waters, the pots will fill. They will then drain into the tray, which goes into a sump pump, and then it’s evacuated through a hose out of the tent and into the drain in the basement. If you need a sump pump, find a great option here.
Lights: To Have An Epic Indoor Garden
For those who were wondering about the light situation, we used to have some really nice lights in here. However, they were seized by the police. They thought this was an illegal tent. As you can see, it is obviously not. But that is a story for another time.
As for these current lights, they really need to go. Any light that has a fan built in, you don’t want. Anything that has that blurple style light, you do not want. It’s not terrible, obviously it’s working, but it helps to have this white light in here.
Here are some really great light options if you’re interested in getting some for your tent:

Pollinating: To Have An Epic Indoor Garden
I was asked about pollinating and how to pollinate flowers like this. The truth is, you don’t really need to do much on these. Just a simple flick, and the pollen from the male part of the flower reaches the female part of the flower.
These flowers are bisexual on the pepper and the tomato, so the male and the female part are in the same flower. So, just the fan and a little vibration will take care of your pollinating needs. (Yes, plants are part of the LGBTQ movement! – Sorry, another dad-joke. Please ignore me. I’m getting worse.)
Final Thoughts: Have An Epic Indoor Garden In No Time
